The Council of Ministers, in its meeting held yesterday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dr. Omar Razzaz, approved the decision of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority to reduce registration fees and conduct economic activities for the first time by 50%.

According to the decision, the fees will be 500 dinars instead of 1,000 dinars, and stipulates that 250 dinars instead of 500 dinars will be paid for each economic activity carried out by the registered institution for one year, and within the simplified procedures for registration and licensing of economic activities in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.

The resolution aims to encourage institutions to work within the Aqaba area and to register as institutions registered with the Authority to benefit from the exemptions and advantages of the region.

The decision is to reduce direct costs for companies operating in the ASEZA is an important step that will contribute to the revival of the economic movement, the stability of these companies and attract investment, and encourage investors to establish new investment projects, as well as alleviate the burden on investors to reflect positively on small projects And medium.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers tasked the Minister of Finance to secure the necessary allocations for the payment of financial dues related to the tender for the implementation of protection works for the concrete bridges on the Dead Sea / Sowayma / Ghor Haditha (Package I and II) until the end of this year, amounting to 3 million and 868 thousand And 785 dinars.

The Cabinet also instructed the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation to provide the necessary allocations for this tender for the packages (first, second and supervision) for the year 2020, the total value of 8,666,312 dinars.

The project aims to ensure traffic safety and public safety elements on the road and to preserve the lives of citizens and the owners of this vital road.
